As summer gets into full swing I thought it was time for another Elite blog and to let you know what we have all been up to at the salon.
The Elite team have been busy behind the scenes gaining some more industry education and keeping up to date with the latest techniques. We have had the pleasure of working with the TIGI creative team and getting to grips with their exciting range of colours, and let me tell you they have blown me away! (the toning range is awesome!)
I am truly excited to launch these new colours within the salon and show you what this brand has to offer. We will be changing over from being a Wella based salon to a TIGI salon. I feel after 10 years with the Wella brand it is time for a change, and after much research I feel TIGI is the new brand for us and can offer the salon the support and training which it needs to move forward.
So how do you do a product brand change without scaring your staff and clients? Well myself and the team have had endless meetings, colour demo’s, education evenings, and not to mention ALOT of theory! (which I know the girls secretly loved) It has been a great learning experience for all of us and we feel confident working with this new range of colours and products. It certainly got our creative juice’s following again!
Over the next 4 weeks we will slowly be introducing the TIGI brand in and phasing out the Wella brand. For all our colour clients your next appointment will be with Wella colour, and at this appointment your stylist will talk you through our new range and also carry out an Allergy Alert Test.
I want to take this opportunity is give you all a bit more information on Allergy Alert Testing or also known as a skin or patch test.
A small amount of colour is applied to a clean area behind the ear or in the crease of the elbow 48 hours before a colour service. The client will then be asked to look out for any signs of a rash, redness, itching, stinging or burning, which if a reaction is going to happen will occur in those 48 hours.
What I personally love about the new TIGI products is they are PPD Free, and they contain more natural ingredients such as coconut oil, oatmeal and macca honey just to name a few. With a lot more people living a clean way of life, these products will fit in perfectly. I was also very happy to hear none of the TIGI products are tested on animals, which for us is a big NO NO, and it still makes me sad every time you hear of a big brand using this way of testing.
Wella has been a great brand to work with over the last 10 years and I’m very grateful for the support and education they have given us over this time. I know some clients may feel unsure of the change but I can ensure you this change wasn’t taken lightly. The staff are very excited about creating some wonderful new colours for their clients and working with a brand they believe in and feel confident with. We all had such fun on our training sessions (there was a lot of laughing, mainly the girls laughing at me with a red white board pen!) It was definitely a team bonding session, and again makes me feel very lucky to have such a brilliant team who are all so talented and a pleasure to work with.
We look forward to seeing you in the salon soon and introducing you to the new TIGI products.
